This car door completely disappears
Transcript: Disappearing car door. This prototype rotary drop door system was created by former California design and tech company Jatech. The system places the driver and passenger side doors completely underneath the vehicle. Making it easier for drivers to exit and enter the vehicle without the need to use a door handle. It also makes it easier for drivers to access the vehicle in a tight parking space. The disappearing car door is not new technology. In the ’80s, BMW produced 8,000 Z1s that included the disappearing doors. The Kaiser Darrin was produced with a forward sliding door in the ’50s. Unfortunately, the Jatech design company is no longer active. Do you think this technology should make a comeback? See more on the Disappearing Car Door YouTube page.
